Orion Future Technology Ltd, an Ashford based company that manufactures and sells eco-friendly products to the agricultural market, was asked by a client with a large export business in Kenya to sponsor `Rhino Charge` they did not hesitate.
Orion Future Technology supplies Stevenage based company, Flamingo Produce Limited, who in turn supply fresh produce grown in Kenya and other African countries to M & S, Tesco, Sainsbury and Morrison’s in the UK. The farmers use Orion’s products because they are environmentally friendly and reduce pesticide use and harmful residue levels
The Rhino Charge is an annual off-road competition held in Kenya in which entrants are required to visit 13 Points (guard Posts) scattered over 100km of rough terrain within a 10 hour period.
This event is organised in order to raise funds to support the activities of the Rhino Ark Charitable Trust, which works towards the conservation and protection of Kenya`s eco-systems.
The Team pictured below finished the race, which given the topography is not guaranteed; they raised the fantastic sum of £20k.
Abhi Jain, Partner at Magee Gammon, commented,
“I would like to congratulate the team on successfully completing the Rhino Charge and raising such a fantastic amount for the Rhino Ark Charitable Trust.
Magee Gammon have worked with the team at Orion for over a decade, offering them accounting and business advice and support; during this time we have seen the company develop into the successful business it is today.”
