Match Report by David Brookes
With 8 teams taking place we feared the worse when we were drawn in group B – the group of death.
Our first game started cautiously and was nil – nil at half time, with some good one touch football. The game exploded early into the second half when the stroller intercepted a pass and found himself past the half way line, with his normal ability his second touch was always going to be a tackle with him fully committed as stopping was out of the question the ball ended up in the net, the opposition pressed forward with little effect and we grabbed a second goal towards the end to see them off.
With our confidence up we started the second game well, with an early goal from Sam (josh’s brother, the one who scores goals) again the stroller got lost found himself up front and blasted an overhead kick into the top corner to earn £5 from Mark Britland, Sam then notched again to earn a comfortable 3 – 0 victory.
With a long wait until our third game we must have all got cold as we stared very slowly, with Stuart the Cat making some splendid saves with one long range effort nestling into his lunch basket quite nicely, once the ball was retrieved we restarted the game, it was 0 – 0 at half time with no signs of any goals being scored, just then killer Tutt intercepted a poor square pass and with his usual aplomb smashed the ball into the top corner, this opened the flood gates and was followed by a cool finish from Andrew, a blaster from Roland and second from the Killer saw us finish the game 4 – 0 winners.
